The government of Jammu and Kashmir is trying to adopt many villages for the cooperative societies for a particular produce so that those villagers get the required money from their produce.
In a recent interaction with farmers, the government has asked them to adopt cooperative farming to maximize their gains and to solve the issue of small land holdings. He suggested they embrace modern technology and techniques to multiply the margin of profit.
The government asked the youth to come forward and invest their intellect and energy in advancing the agriculture sector. He advised them to establish their own quality checking labs with full support of the administration. It is a fact that our lands are more promising than that of Europe.
Higher ups in the administration have asked both the officers and farmers to put their heads together and deliberate upon their issues. He asked them to propose solutions for each of the problems after assessing ground realities. Government has told farmers to emulate the best models evolved world over in each sector of agriculture for increasing their income manifold.
Now the ball is in the court of the government to introduce innovative schemes for the farmers and also encourage them to go for cooperative societies so that they get maximum benefit from the market.
Cooperative movement among the farmers of Jammu and Kashmir is yet to start and if the government encourages them to create these cooperatives it would be a real game changer in the agriculture sector.
