Navin Choudhary visits B’la; Takes stock of development scenario

BARAMULLA, AUGUST 12: Principal Secretary, Agriculture Production & Farmers’ Welfare, Navin Kumar Choudhary, today visited Baramulla to take stock of overall development scenario in the district.
Principal Secretary chaired an interactive meeting with District Development Council members to assess their issues and concerns pertaining to development of their respective areas.
DDC members highlighted several grievances and demands and sought their timely redressal in order to accomplish the goal of development at grass root level.
Meanwhile, DDC Chairperson, Safeena Beigh, highlighted several issues of development significance seeking an early redressal of the same.
Principal Secretary assured that all the development concerns of PRIs shall be looked into for speedy redressal so that the vision of democratic decentralization is realized.
Principal Secretary issued on the spot directions to various concerned officers with regard to resolution of several issues pertaining to development of the district.
Later, Navin Kumar Choudhary chaired a separate meeting with the heads of concerned departments to review the pace of progress on several mega development projects undertaken by different executing agencies in the district.
District Development Commissioner, Bhupinder Kumar, gave a detailed account of progress recorded under various sectors. He presented a brief district profile highlighting the current status of COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing vaccination campaign apart from elaborating on development projects.
Principal Secretary emphasized upon the functionaries to strictly abide by the timelines that have been fixed for completion of developmental projects.
Navin Choudhary stressed for incorporation of modern farming practices having potential to create added opportunities for our farmers towards doubling their income.
Directors of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Sericulture, Horticulture Planning and Marketing, heads of concerned departments, engineers of line departments, district officers among other functionaries were present in the meeting.
