Heritage houses of Shahri Khass

Government in the past tried to preserve many heritage houses and buildings in Downtown Srinagar but the efforts to make this area as a tourist hub could not materialize.
However, some owners of these houses have not only preserved these heritage houses but have also given them a face lift and it is adding to the rich cultural heritage of Srinagar city.
These houses have in their grandeur our past and the architect of those times when Srinagar city used to be the capital of many kings and most of these houses were of the people who used to live in Downtown Srinagar.
