After a long wait there is good news for the government employees and the pensioners of Jammu and Kashmir as the administration has decided to increase the Dearness Allowance of them.

The government in an order has said that Dearness Allowance for government employees and pensioners increased from existing 17% to 28% from July 1.

With a lot of disruptions in life including the covid lockdowns, there has been no flow of money from the private sector and the private employees in the markets.

It is only the money of government employees and the pensioners which is largely circulated in the markets of Jammu and Kashmir. Increasing the DA from 17% to 28% is good news not only for them but also for the markets which are witnessing a slump.

The tourism sector has started picking up in the last fortnight of July and most of the tourism players are expecting a better footfall in the current month of August.
