DC B’la chairs Rent Assessment Committee meeting

BARAMULLA, JULY 10: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla Bhupinder Kumar today convened a meeting of Rent Assessment Committee (RAC) here.

The DC, who is also the chairman of the Committee, held a detailed discussion with the concerned departments functioning from rented accommodations in the district and with owners of these buildings.

During the meeting, 33 cases came under discussion pertaining to 13 different departments in which 29 cases were settled whereas 04 cases were rejected on account of their construction on state/govt land. The cases were discussed keeping in view various administrative and other necessities.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC directed the concerned authorities to ensure that govt buildings are occupied for official purposes and rented accommodation remains the final option. He also emphasized to take into consideration all such cases within the stipulated time frame adding that all the cases not considered within the fixed time shall not be endorsed.

Moreover, DC directed to ensure that such buildings are not constructed on state land and stressed to remain vigilant in this regard.

Joint Director Planning, ACR, CEO, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, District Social Welfare Officer and officers of other concerned departments among other functionaries were present in the meeting.
