Health workers allegedly attacked by stones during vaccination drive in Bandipora village

Health workers were allegedly attacked by a family during a vaccination drive in Zuban locality of Chuntimulla village in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

An official said that the medical team while conducting a vaccination drive in the village was attacked by a family.

In the recent past Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha directed its administration to complete the vaccination drive in the age group of 45 and above till June end.

The health department has intensified its vaccination drive in the age group of 45 and above in the entire Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile KNO in its report about the attack on health workers said, A health worker who was present at the spot said that the villagers claimed that they were in good health and did not need any vaccine.

Meanwhile, a video of the incident has also gone viral on social media in which a family is seen attacking the health department team with stones.

When contacted deputy commissioner Bandipora, Dr Owais said that an enquiry has been initiated into the incident and legal action will be taken against the involved persons and such incidents will never be tolerated.

Meanwhile, a police official while confirming the incident said that they have detained a person in this regard and further action has been taken up.
