Man eater leopard caught alive by wildlife department in Budgam

In a big success wildlife officials along with forest department officials were able to catch alive the leopard which recently mauled to death a four year old girl at Ompora Budgam.

Earlier also the same leopard was spotted in the DC office complex and the officials laid a trap to catch him alive. This is a huge relief to the residents of Budgam as there were a lot of rumors about his presence in the congested localities bringing fear among the residents.

Reporting about the incident, news agency KNO has said, eleven days after mauling a four-year-old girl to death, the leopard was caught alive by wildlife authorities on Tuesday at DC office complex in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

An official told a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the leopard was spotted near the nursery of the DC office, and the searches were intensified accordingly in the area.

He said that after strenuous efforts the leopard was caught alive.

Meanwhile, locals said that they heaved a sigh of relief as the leopard had created fear among the local populace.
