Advisor Bhatnagar visits Ramban, reviews covid control measures, developmental scenario of the district

Interacts with officials, DDC members, locals at Banihal

RAMBAN, JUNE 01: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar today visited Ramban district and took stock of Covid control measures taken by the district administration besides reviewing the progress on various sectors and major projects which are under progress across the district.

Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam, Chief Engineer, JKPDC, Surinder Abrol, SSP, P D Nitya, SSP, Traffic, Shabir Ahmad Malik, ADC, Harbans Lal, CMO, Dr. Mohammad Fareed Bhat and other senior officers also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the Advisor reviewed the arrangements available in newly established Panchayat Covid Centres in the district. He directed the officials to make these fully functional and also train the staff deployed there.

Advisor Bhatnagar also took stock of arrangements put in place in view of the pandemic Covid-19 at District Hospital Ramban besides he also assesed the functioning of CT Scan, digital X-ray and diagnostic Labs of the hospital.

   The Advisor also reviewed the functioning and utility of Covid control rooms, helpline numbers, Tele consultancy services and progress on mapping and tracking. He also enquired about the status of vaccination, testing, contact tracing, follow up of isolated patients at home, availability of bed capacity at designated centers during the visit.

Advisor Bhatnagar stressed upon the health department to evolve an effective strategy for early detection of COVID cases and timely treatment. He instructed the concerned officers to upscale the vaccination process and urged the people to get vaccinated at designated Centes to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.

Advisor Bhatnagar asked the officers to ensure strict adherence to all preventive protocols and SOPs and also enforce them effectively.

The Advisor was informed that Ramban district has completed mapping of 58 thousand families though Swasthya Nidhi and 138 persons were identified and tested out of which 13 were found Covid positive but asymptomatic and they were put in home isolation amid covid protocol.

The Advisor was also informed that since March 01 almost 65000 both RTPCR and RAT covid tests have been conducted across district and 3040 people have been found Covid positive out of which 2272 recovered and 734 cases are active and unfortunately 32 covid deaths have also reported in the district. He was further informed that 77% people of 45 years age and above have been vaccinated in the district.

During the meeting, the Advisor also took first-hand appraisal of progress on various major development projects being executed by the different departments across the district. He also reviewed the functioning of various departments including PWD, PMGSY, Jal Shakti, Health, Education and Fisheries.

While discussing Jal Shakti sector, the Advisor impressed upon the administration to ensure effective implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission scheme which will redress the issues of water quality and supply at large scale besides facilitating the people in every nook and corner of the district.

  The Deputy Commissioner apprised the Advisor about progress on construction work of Yatri Niwas at Chanderkote and various other issues including repairing of Bailey bridge at Maitre and repairing of hand pumps and also requested to start vaccination of 18-44 years age group. He also informed that tenders for 14 projects out of 35 projects under Jal Jeeven Mission have been invited and rest are under process.

The Advisor was also apprised about the security scenario of the district by the SSP whereas SSP, traffic briefed him about traffic regulation and other highway issues.

Meanwhile, Advisor Bhatnagar also interacted with officials, DDC members, PRIs and locals at Banihal.

The DDC Members and locals raised various developmental issues with Advisor and demanded immediate redressal of the same.

The main issues raised were drinking water facility for the Hospital and completion of works on Ashar lifting plant.

The Advisor directed the concerned officials for completion of the plant within two months.

He assured the DDC members, Sarpanches and locals all possible help from the government and advised them to play their role while dealing with the current situation of COVID-19.
