Strict curfew being enforced by police in Srinagar on Friday

Right from the morning of today, police vans were seen chasing hawkers and asking the shopkeepers not to open their establishments even in the by lanes of Srinagar city.
Police and security forces have erected barricades and have closed many roads by barbed wire at many places to block any kind of private traffic.
In most of the business establishments including Lal Chowk Srinagar strict curfew was being enforced and the main market near the clock tower of Srinagar was barricaded by police from all sides.
A senior police officer told this newspaper that they will not allow any congregation in any major Shrines or Masjids of Srinagar city today on Friday.
