Covid victims
Many social organizations, NGO’s and Masjid committees in the localities of Kashmir are trying to help those families who have suffered losses due to the covid-19 infection.
Apart from arranging oxygen cylinders, oxygen concentrators and medicines for poor and needy families, these social organizations have been very helpful to these families as many of them have lost their dear ones to this infection.
With limited resources all such nongovernmental efforts cannot make the lives normal of such poor families who have lost only bread earners to the covid infection.
Now the government of Jammu and Kashmir has decided to intervene in such matters and has directed all the Deputy Commissioners to issue death certificates to the kin of covid victims so that they can be helped by different government welfare schemes.
Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha in a series of path breaking decisions has conveyed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir that the government is at their back in this hour of crisis especially those poor families who have lost their bread earners and have no means of income.
According to these decisions of the government all those senior citizens who have lost the only earning member to covid-19 would be provided with a lifetime special pension.
