Lt Governor Manoj Sinha recently took a step in the right direction when he talked to senior politicians of Jammu and Kashmir seeking their cooperation to fight the pandemic.

According to the media reports Lt Governor has stressed on the role of public representatives to fight the second wave of covid-19 and said that their cooperation was necessary to break the chain of pandemic in Jammu and Kashmir.

All the political leaders in Jammu and Kashmir have vast experience of governing this place including Farooq Abdullah, his son Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti.

Their suggestions if they have given any should be taken seriously by the administration to tackle the pandemic. The growing number of fatalities due to the covid-19 is a matter of concern in Jammu and Kashmir as each day the official bulletin gives the tragic figures of deaths due to this virus.

Despite claims of the administration that they are committed to the safety of the people, the growing number of deaths due to covid-19 is a matter of concern. The administration should have anticipated the second wave as it has already shown its presence at various places in the country and should have tackled the situation in a better manner.
