Advisor Farooq Khan visits DH Reasi, reviews Covid control measures

REASI, MAY 05- Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan, today visited District Hospital Reasi and reviewed the status of Covid control measures being put in place to tackle  Covid-19 pandemic effectively.

Advisor Farooq Khan, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Ajay Kumar, took stock of entire medical infrastructure availability in the hospital. He was informed that the hospital is equipped with modern state of art medical CT scan machine, X-ray machine, ultrasound machine besides well equipped OT rooms, Gynae rooms and general ward.

Deputy Commissioner informed the Advisor about status of initiatives being taken up by the district administration saying that the vaccination centres have been identified in the district where regular vaccination of Covid-19 is being carried out. Besides, testing/sampling of travelers coming through road and railways is also being carried out while surveillance teams are conducting random testing of Covid-19, he added.

Ajay Kumar informed the Advisor about the present status of RTPCR/RAT/ Truenat testing, active positive cases, micro containment zones, vaccination status of HCW/FLWAW, availability of oxygen equipments, beds and other medical facilities in the district.

Advisor Farooq Khan also reviewed the functioning of departments of FCS&CA, Social welfare, Police, Revenue and healthcare system. He exhorted upon the administration to adopt proactive approach in handling Covid-19 positive cases besides increasing recovery rate. He said additional hospitals and health institutions can also be ramped up for enhancing medical aid facilities in the district. He laid emphasis on ensuring tele-medicine facility in the district for attending non Covid-19 OPDs.

       Advisor Farooq Khan also enquired about the status of oxygen generating plants in the district. He directed the SSP for ensuring zero pilferage and zero diversion of medical oxygen to non-health institutions.

          SSP Shalinder Singh, PO ICDS Renu Kumari, ACR Sanjay Badyal, DSWO Gulshan Kumar and other concerned officers were present.

Advisor emphasized  District Social Welfare Officer to clear pendency of  all old age pension, widows pension, PCP pension and  marriage assistance  cases with involvement of PRIs.

Similarly, PO ICDS was directed to ensure  that nutrition is reaching at the target places and AD FCS&CA was asked to check that  free ration is reaching to every needy person under PMJKSY.
