34 hours long covid curfew announced by the UT government of Jammu and Kashmir is being strictly enforced in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir.
This reporter while travelling from Dalgate to Lal Chowk, saw strict enforcement of covid curfew and only patients, ambulances and people connected with the emergency services were being allowed.
In the main city of Lal Chowk especially around the clock tower Police and security forces create barricades and were not allowing vehicular movement from that place by the people due to the steep rise in COVID-19 cases.
Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha tweeted on Saturday about the covid curfew of 34 hours as an effort to break the chain of new wave in Kashmir Valley especially in Srinagar city.
Though the government has announced many micro containment zones, on Saturday Khanyar locality of Srinagar was declared as a containment zone as during the random testing more than 50 persons tested positive to COVID-19 in this locality.
