Over one thousand beds available in Kashmir for covid patients says government

While the many covid designated hospitals in Jammu and Kashmir have recently told the media that they are almost full to their capacity, JK government has released the figures about the availability of beds for covid patients.

Government said that a total 1705 beds have been kept for covid patients with 1194 beds for Kashmir and 511 for Jammu region.

According to the KNO quoting the government notification about the availability of beds, it said in its report, as per the notification issued by the Deputy Director Planning Health and Medical Education Department, Gandhi Nagar Hospital Jammu has 90 beds for Covid patients only while as CD Hospital Jammu has 110, MCH complex Gandhi Nagar Hospital Jammu 98,  CHC Ramgarh 25, Old hospital Kishtwar 70,  SDH Nagri Prole 30, CHC Chenani 80 and AH Ghagwal, Samba 08. “In total, 511 beds are available for Covid patients in various Jammu hospitals,” the notification, a copy of which is available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), reads.

It further states that in Kashmir, 1194 beds are available for Covid patie in the various Covid designated hospitals that include 104 beds at CD hospital Srinagar, 150 at JLNM hospital Srinagar,  50 at Kashmir Nursing Home,  50 at SDH Sopore, 110 at Trauma Hospital Bijbehara,  50 at NTPHC Akura Mattan,  60 at MCH Kulgam,  40 at NTPHC New Building Pethkod Budgam, 30 at NTPHC New Building Parisabad Budgam, 34 at PHC Chanapora, Budgam.,  100 at NTPHC Bandipora (Maternity Centre Sanavani), 80 at CHC Hajin, 30 at CHC Dawar, 56 at Tibiya College  Shivath Bandipora, 250 at army hospital JAKLI Rangreth Srinagar.

“In total, 1705 beds are available for the Covid patients across the UT,” the notification reads.
