With daily bulletin of covid-19 showing frightening figures in Jammu and Kashmir, the government has recently decided to put more restrictions in order to break the chain of this viral infection.

The numbers of deaths have also increased due to the covid-19 and in all the designated hospitals to treat these patients, media reports are suggesting that health infrastructure is crumbling under the pressure of patients.

There is no denying of the fact that people and the government are equally responsible for the spread of covid-19 again as the signals were not taken seriously by them.

People did not adhere to the sops announced by the government in this spring season. Gardens were overcrowded and people mingled freely, not keeping the social distance.

Even the minimum sop of wearing a mask was not adhered by most of the people especially in Srinagar city. The authorities were aware about the spread of second wave and did not take the prompt remedial measures like increasing the testing and motivating the people to go for vaccination in their age groups.

The travellers and tourists who came by road were not tested earlier as there was no testing facility available. With the growing cases of covid-19, authorities few days back established such testing facilities for all the tourists and travellers entering Kashmir valley by road.

In such circumstances it is very frightening scenario emerging in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir as the number of patients are only growing.
