Snatched rifle recovered with vehicle by police

Police on Friday said that they have recovered the snatched rifle which was taken from the JK Bank branch by unidentified gunmen with money.

Police also said that they have recovered the vehicle also in which the gunmen fled from the area. Giving details police said that they received information that there is an abandoned Maruti vehicle in the Kunzar area of Baramulla and they recovered 12 bore rifle of JK bank guard from the same vehicle.

About this incident GNS said in its report quoting an official that the abandoned vehicle was found at Wusan village in Kunzar area of Baramulla district this morning.

On searches the snatched 12-Bore rifle snatched from the bank guard was also found near the site, the official said.

In the meantime, searches have been intensified in and around the area to nab the culprits, the official said.

It is pertinent to mention here that at least three unidentified gunmen donning PPE kits had on Thursday struck into a bank and fled with a cash amount of 2,86,130 rupees besides a 12-Bore rifle from a guard on duty.
