COVID: J&K Govt new measures, night curfew extended to all municipal, urban local body limits

In view of the surge in COVID-19 cases, the Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday issued new measures and have extended night curfew to all municipal and urban local body limits of 20 districts across the Union Territory.

The government official said that the Corona Curfew at night shall be extended to all Municipal/urban local body limits of all 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

“It was already in force in eight districts earlier, from 1000 hours to 0600 hours,” they said.

He said that only 50 per cent of shops in Market complexes / Bazaars / Malls within the Municipal limits / urban local body limits shall be open on an alternate basis through a rotation system.

“Public transport (matadors /mini-buses / buses etc) in J&K shall be permitted to ply only at 50 percent of its authorized seating capacity,” said an official adding that the District Superintendents of Police shall ensure compliance to this effect.

“District magistrates of all districts shall devise a mechanism to implement this, preferably in consultation with local market associations,” he added.
