Army has been keeping a vigil on the borders even though there is relative calm and peace prevailing as a fresh ceasefire agreement was recently signed by the two countries.

The northern commander of the Army, during his recent visit to the forward posts along the Line of Control in Kashmir called for maintaining the sanctity of the ceasefire agreement that was reached out between India and Pakistan.

“The Army Commander laid special emphasis on maintaining the sanctity of the ceasefire as per the understanding reached by DGMOs in February 2021,” and expressed hope that this ceasefire agreement would be maintained on the ground.

Armies have been very active on the borders post ceasefire agreement and have been holding a lot of meetings near the border with their commanders and have given instructions to the ground commanders that the ceasefire agreement must be adhered to at all costs.

It is a good beginning between the two neighboring countries as many such earlier ceasefire agreements could not be maintained and the peace could not prevail.

Though it is a baby step taken by the two countries, it has given hope to the people of Jammu and Kashmir that they will set on the table and hold negotiations for the durable peace in the region.
