Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha has asked the police and administration at all the district levels in Kashmir valley that they should facilitate the prayers of people in the holy month of Ramzan so that people are not put to any inconvenience.

He also directed the administration including all DCs to ensure all basic facilities to the people in their respective districts, as the grievances of common people are piling up and they feel that the government is not listening to their feelings.

He asked the officers to make sure that uninterrupted power and water supply is made available particularly during Sehri and Iftar so that people do not face any difficulty during the holy month of Ramzan.

Such instructions have been welcomed by common people who expect the respective DC’s to take these directives seriously and make sure that the people are not put to any kind of hindrance during the holy month of Ramzan.

There is a spike in covid-19 cases and the Srinagar district is emerging with disturbing trends of rise in the cases. The government will have to balance between the two while social gatherings create an environment for the spread of covid cases.

Underscoring the importance of Block Diwas, the Lt Governor said that it is an important administrative intervention and called upon the officers to use this platform optimally for public service delivery and redressing grievances of the people.
