J&K health services is gearing up to combat with the second wave of covid-19 infection and in this direction recently Health Services Kashmir has decided to cancel the leaves of all doctors and paramedical staff to be ready to face the threat head on.

Doctors and other staff of the health services have been the frontline warriors against the covid-19 infection during the first wave and even the ambulance drivers of the covid designated hospitals used to help the people even to take the bodies to the graveyard.

There sacrifices and services have been lauded by the people and by the civil society as many of the doctors along with paramedical staff while giving life to the covid infected people fell to the disease and it was the extreme sacrifice they could give while being in the line of duty.

Recently even the former chief minister Omar Abdullah praised the doctors and paramedical staff of SKIMS and said that they were giving the best treatment to his father the sitting MP of Srinagar and showed his gratitude to their services.

If the authorities will start implementing all the measures taken in the other parts to arrest the trend of covid-19 there would be less rush to the hospitals and if there is spread of infection, it would be very difficult for the covid designated hospitals to cater to the needs of the patients.

Already these hospitals are treating the covid patients and recently some of the senior doctors have said that the government should start looking for more makeshift hospitals if the covid wave again spreads across Kashmir.
