One more educational institution closed in Kashmir amid covid spike

District authorities of Baramulla have closed down government girls higher secondary school of Sopore for one week as some teachers in this institution have tested positive for covid-19 infection.

Already many educational institutions have been closed in Budgam, Anantnag and Kulgam as students and teachers in many schools have tested positive to the infection prompting authorities to close them down.

Recently the government has told all the deputy commissioners in Jammu and Kashmir to take final call about the closure of educational institutions in their jurisdictions if they feel that the covid-19 infection was spreading in these institutions.

Meanwhile KNS in its report has said authorities on Saturday closed the Girls Higher secondary school sopore for next seven days, after four teachers tested positive for COVID-19.

According to a statement, of which a copy lies with Kashmir News Service (KNS) that reads in view of reported Covid-19 positivity of four teachers of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Sopore and to Prue-emt, further spread of the virus. The institution will remain closed for next seven days, with effect from 03 /04 /2021.

Official sources said that the educational institution has been closed for next 7 days after four teachers tested Covid-19 positive, added that all the primary and secondary contacts of the affected teachers have been advised to self-isolate and quarantine themselves.
