Union Government has selected Jammu and Srinagar cities under the smart city project category and has released a lot of funds for the development of these cities in the recent past.
Government is very keen to complete the work on different projects in these two cities and recently Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha in a high level meeting has asked the concerned agencies of the government to resort to making of technical committees for wetting the tenders and not waste time for the approvals.
Many of the works in these two cities could not be started due to the non completion of the tendering process and the wetting of DPR’s. The directions of Manoj Sinha were clear that there should be no wastage of time for clearing the tendering process.
Directions were also issued to reduce the completion time of projects by taking up multiple works simultaneously. He called for putting dedicated focus on improving infrastructure & services, increasing mobility and enhancing the administrative efficiency, besides maintaining inter-departmental coordination to transform Jammu and Srinagar into modern and sustainable cities.
While reviewing the progress on installation of Advertisement Panels, the Lt Governor observed that communication and feedback is the highest priority of Administration and directed the officers for engaging in continuous communication with the public.
