Will they listen?
Kashmir based political parties especially National Conference which has three MP’s in the parliament have decided not to be the part of any proceedings to be held by delimitation commission in order reorganize assembly seats as well as parliamentary seats in Jammu and Kashmir.
Recently LG Manoj Sinha also appealed to political parties of Kashmir to cooperate with the delimitation commission if they want early assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that cooperation of all the political parties for the exercise of delimitation commission was necessary for early assembly elections and expressed surprise that on one hand they were asking for assembly elections on the other hand they were boycotting the proceedings of delimitation commission. Former chief minister and former LOP of Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad in a recent statement repeated what Manoj Sinha has said about the Kashmir based political parties especially the three MP’s of National Conference.
Ghulam Nabi Azad said that by boycotting the proceedings of delimitation commission, Kashmir based three MP’s are leaving the field open for BJP to talk about their side of the story for the re-organization of assembly segments and said that it was right on their part to stay away from delimitation commission. The National Conference has taken a stand that since the matter is in the Supreme Court and abrogation of article 370, along with all other central orders was under challenge so it was not feasible for them to be part of any exercise which according to them will kill the spirit of challenging in the court.
