After visiting the victims of families of recent violence, especially cops, Mehbooba Mufti on Monday said that if the police feel that “I am instigating people for the violence they must do their work and arrest me”.

Peoples Democracy Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti who was re-elected as president of her party for three years again, told the media, “if police plans to arrest her for her work, so be it.”

“Let IGP Kashmir do his duty. I will do my job the way I am doing. If the police want to arrest me for what I am doing, so be it,” Mehbooba told the media after being re-elected as the PDP chief.

It is in place to mention that after the shootout at Barzullah in which two cops were killed IGP Kashmir Range Vijay Kumar without naming any politician had stated that some political leaders were instigating people by spreading rumours.

Vijay Kumar was quoted in the media saying that police won’t hesitate in preparing a dossier and if needed, action would also be taken against such politicians.

“I want to see the end to the sufferings of people that include denial of the body of a slain son to his father. I won’t allow Kashmir to become a ring of war for India and Pakistan and instead Kashmir should become a bridge of peace between the two nations. Dialogue is the best way to resolve issues,” Mehbooba told the media on Monday.
