Army briefs foreign envoys about the role of Pakistan in militancy

Army commanders briefed the visiting envoys of foreign countries about the security situation on the borders with Pakistan and also about their role in the ongoing militancy by running training camps for the militants across the border.

The envoys, including from member states of the European Union (EU), Brazil and Malaysia, were also briefed about the role of the Pakistani army in helping militants infiltrate into India, infiltration patterns and use of drones by Pakistan to airdrop weapons meant for militants, officials privy to the briefing of army commanders told media.

Use of tunnels for pushing militants to this side of the border, especially in the Samba sector of Jammu and Kashmir, was highlighted by the army, which also gave a detailed presentation about the weapons, bearing markings of the Pakistani army, seized from various militants during the anti-militancy operations conducted by them.
