Former chief minister and PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti has recently said that dialogue was the only way forward for the present Kashmir problems and said that those who are trying to show it as a problem of development are living in a fool’s paradise.

She also advocated for dialogue with Pakistan and questioned the central government over their present posture of no dialogue with the neighbor.

She has earlier compared the LAC standoff with China and no dialogue with Pakistan and said that if the government of India can still carry on dialogue with China even after they have entered inside the Indian territory why not a dialogue with Pakistan which is more important for the overall peace not only the border areas but also in entire Jammu and Kashmir.

She said that iron-fist policy of the union government is bound to prove counterproductive and it has consequences for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Mehbooba said the resolution of the Kashmir issue was imperative for steering Jammu and Kashmir out of present turmoil and ensuring lasting peace and development.

“Peace has to be restored on the border, the daily rush to Kashmir graveyards has to end, the bloodshed of our youngsters has to stop, and for all this resolution of Kashmir issue was essential,” Mehbooba said while addressing party workers during a recent visit to Pir Panchal region of Jammu.
