The government of Jammu and Kashmir by the recent official order has extended the ban on the 4G services here and it has surely been not good news for the student community and traders.

Earlier also many groups went to the Supreme court and the government told the court that being a sensitive place, they will restore the 4G services after due feedback.

After the Supreme Court observations, JK government restored 4G mobile internet accesses in Ganderbal in Kashmir Division and Udhampur in Jammu Division but the rest of the areas in the union territory continued to have limited mobile internet speed.

The Centre has maintained that decisions depended on security scenarios which were complicated due to the threat of militancy and the strategic geo-political situation of Jammu and Kashmir.

But the students are asking the question that the situation of Kashmir will not improve in days and will they have to wait for years for the restoration of 4G services.

Similarly the traders especially those connected with the tourism trade had appealed to the government many times in the past that they should lift the curbs on the high speed internet as they need it for their business.

Now the Private Schools Association of Jammu and Kashmir has also moved to the court for the restoration of 4G services even after the JK government has indicated that after the recommendations from the committee framed by Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha they will take a final call whether to restore the 4G in coming days.
