Yet another Gunfight in Pulwama, two arrested one of them injured

According to the local reports, Lelhar area of South Kashmir’s Pampore, in a gunfight after some time two entrapped militants belonging to Hizb-ul-Mujahideen surrendered before the security forces as one of them had received injuries during the encounter.

According to the official spokesman they surrendered before the forces after the brief gunfight. Earlier in Tral three militants of Hizb were killed in a gunfight on Friday.

According to the police both the militants surrendered after given an offer as per an SOP during “live-action”. Two AK-47 rifles were also recovered from their possession.

One among the surrendered militants had suffered an injury during the gunfight which started last night. He has been subsequently shifted to hospital for treatment, police told some new organizations.

Earlier after the Tral gunfight Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar had told media that they want to save the lives of local militants and for this purpose they are focusing to encourage the militants to surrender during the encounter.

He said that they are getting encouraging results by the surrender offers and in the Lelhar gunfight, two Hizb militants responded to the surrender offer of the police during the encounter and police had immediately shifted the injured militant to the nearby health facility for treatment.

It is in place to mention that the gunfight had ensued after a joint team of police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Lelhar after specific inputs about the presence of the militants.
