Is Omar responsible?
Omar Abdullah is back in focus as many media reports and People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) leaders have blamed him for creating a rebellion within the parties like PDP and PC and also trying to consolidating his party National Conference in the DDC elections and the cost of People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD).
PDP president Mehbooba Mufti played down the problems created by Omar Abdullah’s alleged backroom pressures on his father to give tickets more to NC supporters even in the strongholds of PDP and PC. Sajad Gani Lone faced a lot of pressure during the distribution of tickets and all the insiders of PAGD attribute this problem to Omar Abdullah and his backroom interventions.
According to People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) insider quoted by the media, Omar Abdullah is very keen to oil his party machinery before any assembly elections are held in Jammu and Kashmir as he dreams to be the next chief minister.
He showed such intentions when he wrote an article in a National Daily advocating for only restoration of statehood and his willingness to participate in the assembly elections.
He came under criticism from all quarters and his party also forced him to change this statement and finally he also started talking about restoration of article 370 first before any elections exercise in Jammu and Kashmir.
