THROWING COVID AND SNOW TO WINDS ON SATURDAY IN DOWNTOWN
BY Muzammil Bhat
Srinagar: Downtown Srinagar started its normal activities on Saturday morning despite fresh snowfall. With no trace of administration visible, people came out in large numbers to purchase essential commodities from the markets where rates are determined by the shopkeepers at their will.
Traffic authorities have disappeared from the roads of downtown long back. With people having multiple problems and many of them desperate to reach their destinations, at Sekidaraf chowk of downtown a passenger vehicle was carrying the human beings like lambs. There are no SOP’s , despite growing COVID cases, and the roads still slippery with no snow clearance operations in downtown.
