When Dr. Farooq Abdullah talked to the media after the recently concluded DDC elections he appealed to the central government to restore 4G services without any further delay as even the elections were held in a peaceful manner.

Curbs on the 4G services continue to be set back to the tourism sector and other e-commerce platforms in Jammu and Kashmir. The worst hit the students of Jammu and Kashmir especially those who have been pursuing different courses in the different prestigious institutions and could not sit for the exams due to the poor connectivity.  Earlier JK government and the central government told the Supreme Court that it is an issue of national security and they will lift the curbs on 4G services slowly.

On the directions of Supreme Court JK administration out of 20 districts in Jammu and Kashmir restore 4G services in only two districts one each in Kashmir and Jammu and rest of the population continues to suffer. During the DDC elections administration and police give an impression that these curbs would be lifted once the election should be over but even after results have been declared, 2G services are here to stay.

Is this a collective punishment to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for reposing their faith in democratic process again? People especially the youth of Kashmir are asking a question of what kind of violence have those two districts witnessed which have 4G services restored in Jammu and Kashmir. Lack of answers and only silence from the government raises more questions than answers.
