“We are Modi’s army”: BJP holds rally in Mehbooba Mufti’s home constituency
Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) National Spokesman and former union minister, Shahnawaz Hussain Thursday reached to militants in Bijbehara area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district suggesting them to “leave guns and hold pens in their hands.”
Shahnawaz also took a jibe at Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President, Mehbooba Mufti stating that today’s rally was an eye-opener for those who used to claim that no one would hold tri-color in their hands, as not just him but “all the participants in the rally were holding national flag in their hands.”
Talking to reporters after addressing a rally in Dara-Shikho Park, Bijbehara, Shahnawaz said he is holding tri-color and all those present in the rally. “This is the hometown of PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti who used to say no one would hold tri-color in their hands after Article 370 abrogation,” he said as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
Interestingly, a BJP rally was held barely a few meters away from the mausoleum of PDP patron Late Mufti Muhammad Sayed.
He said that whosoever gets killed whether it is a policeman, CRPF man, army man, or a militant, every killing gives pain. “I ask misguided youth to leave the gun and hold a pen in your hands,” the former BJP minister said in an oblivious reference to the militants.
On the grenade attack on Bijbehara, he said that attacks won’t dare them from meeting the people of Jammu and Kashmir and taking the democracy to the grassroots level. “We are PM Narendra Modi’s Army and I am here as Modi ji’s solider. These grenades and bullets won’t deter us from carrying out our political activities,” he said. He said that they got a series of calls
Earlier, addressing the rally, the BJP spokesman said that J-K is very rich in every sector but needs to work on these sectors so that the Union Territory (UT) will see development on the ground. “Those who have ruled here for 70 years have done nothing for the development of J&K but they have worked only on self-development and have formed “Gupkar gang” only to save their wealth.
Asked about farmers protest, he said that they are “our own people and it is good if they will talk to Government of India about their issues and their issues will be redressed.” (KNO)
