Woman delivers baby outside hospital after being denied entry in north Kashmir
Srinagar: In an appalling incident, a pregnant lady after denied entrance in district hospital Bandipora delivered her baby under open sky outside the hospital in North Kashmir’s Bandipora on Saturday.
Local news gathering agency Kashmir Dotcom (KDC) quoting sources reported that a lady from remote village Vewan of Bandipora district on Saturday delivered a baby under open sky at the entrance gate of DH Bandipora.
“She had developed a severe labour pain and was shifted to DH Bandipora, where she went through the tests including Covid-19 which is imperative for going through the surgery,” sources said.
“However, she was tested positive for Covid-19 after which doctors present on duty denied to treat her and shifted her to COVID hospital located in Hajin area of the district which is about 25 Kms away from Bandipora,” sources added.
The family of the lady alleged that she was crying in pain while the doctors at the hospital didn’t bother to see her.
“Resultantly, she delivered the baby under open sky by the help of some other women on the main entrance gate of the hospital,” the family said.
The family has demanded stringent action against the medical team.
Meanwhile, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Bandipora, Bashir Ahmad Lone told news agency KDC that an inquiry into the incident has been ordered and the salary of the accused doctors have been withheld.
He said an explanation has also been served to the accused doctor and an enquiry team has been constituted and directed tosubmit a detailed report within a period of two days.
“We will definitely take stern action against the accused if found guilty,” CMO added. (KDC)
