With PAGD finalizing the list for the upcoming DDC and by polls of panchayat in Jammu and Kashmir, these elections would be generating a lot of interest in the political arena of Kashmir.
Battle lines have been drawn between the political parties in Jammu and Kashmir for the upcoming DDC and by elections of panchayats as PAGD has decided to contest in order to not give a free field to BJP in these elections.
High level review meetings were held in Jammu and Kashmir and one of them was presided over by Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha who asked police and administration to ensure greater participation of common people in these elections.
Manoj Sinha said that he will ensure free, fair, transparent and peaceful elections. He also told police to provide sufficient security to all the candidates irrespective of their party lines so that they can canvas freely and move around to meet their people.
The district SSPs informed the lieutenant governor that all the arrangements have been made to ensure the smooth conduct of polling with the deployment of forces and other security arrangements already in place, official spokesman said about one of the review meetings for these elections.
Manoj Sinha has ensured that all the migrants including the absentees should be able to participate in these local elections and has introduced postal ballot scheme for them.
