Refuting the media reports that PAGD is struggling to finalize the list for the first phase of the DDC elections, spokesman of the amalgam Sajad Gani Lone said that it was kite flying.

Taking to twitter, Sajad said that PAGD has approved the candidates for the first phase of the elections and a list has been sent to all the units of the amalgam.

PAGD has decided to contest not only DDC elections but also the by elections of panchayat however they have decided that these elections would be fought on the respective party symbols and not on the flag of Jammu and Kashmir which is the party symbol of PAGD.

Dr. Farooq Abdullah had already refuted those media reports which suggested that the Congress will contest these elections separately and would not be the part of amalgam. Farooq Abdullah told the media in Jammu that JK Congress Chief met him at his residence and they were very much part of the amalgam.

“PAGD candidates approved for the first phase have already filed their papers. List was conveyed to the parties…,” he wrote.

Lone’s clarification comes in reaction to reports that the alliance had not yet finalized the list of candidates and there were differences over the selection of the candidates.
