While going for an assessment of the ground situation in Ladakh region People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration, they have expressed that people of this region want to be the part of struggle along with people of Jammu and Kashmir to get back not only the whole state but also the special status under article 370.
Although the central government in its latest amendments in land laws has exempted Ladakh but the common people living in this hilly region have more fears than the people of Jammu and Kashmir about their land.
Already they have met Union Home Minister Amit Shah before the LAHDC election of Leh and got an assurance that after the elections central government will come out with a new law or a notification to safeguard their land and jobs for their youth.
People of Ladakh are very much concerned about their identity and they know that they have very less population and vast land. If the outsiders will come and buy land in Ladakh they have the fears that will be reduced to a minority.
While the people of Leh want only this protection and are happy with the union territory status to be directly controlled by Delhi but people of Kargil want to be with Kashmir or want the union government Ladakh as a separate state.
There is a brewing trouble in this region and the coming weeks will decide what will be the future course of action by the people of Kargil and people of Leh along with their talks with the central government.
