Almost all the political parties including Congress and PDP have brought out protest demonstrations against the fresh amendments to the land laws and even the Kashmiri pandits who distributed sweets on the day of abrogation article 370 have asked centre to roll back these laws.

Recently talking to the media in Jammu JKNPP chairman and former minister Harsh Dev Singh said that it was an insult to the vision of last Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh who had introduced the state subject in 1927 to protect the jobs and lands of locals. He said that BJP will face street resistance to such laws which are anti-people for Jammu also. Harsh Dev Singh while talking to this reporter said that BJP is behaving as anti-Jammu and the new land laws will bring all outsiders to Jammu and change the demography of Jammu province.

He further said that already there are a lot of illegal immigrants in thousands living in Jammu and the new law about the land will enable all of them to settle permanently in Jammu. He cautioned BJP to come out from the day dreaming to take the people of Jammu for granted. He has a point as recently for the first time in Jammu after the NPP protest, its flag was burnt on the streets.

PDP could immediately cash in the hostile situation of Jammu and brought out a protest against the fresh land laws and it was followed by a similar protest by pro-Jammu NPP and other such parties. This political churn has emboldened the leadership of people’s alliance and they have started consultations with their supporters in Jammu and Ladakh in order to widen their reach and also make the resistance against all the laws amended by centre and also the abrogation of article 370.
