War of words between Mehbooba Mufti and BJP has grown in the past few days over the tricolor remarks blaming each other for disrespecting the flag.
Mehbooba Mufti in one her tweets has blamed BJP for insulting tiranga, after many BJP leaders including the JK Chief Ravinder Raina demanded her arrest and asked LG Manoj Sinha to book her for sedition. The controversy started when Mehbooba Mufti in her first press conference said that she will not hold tricolor anymore unless the JK flag, JK Constitution and dignity of the people is not restored. She has equated the top leadership of BJP with dacoits and robbers and said that they will have to give back whatever they have stolen from the people of Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019.
Mehbooba Mufti in her tweet while reacting to the remarks of BJP leaders on her tricolor remark said, “Indian flag stands for diversity & peaceful coexistence amongst all. If anyone has insulted the tiranga it is BJP that persecutes minorities & sows division & hatred. The Flag of India flag was disrespected the day BJP leaders carried it to justify rapists of a 9 year old. Spare me the lessons”. Mehbooba Mufti attacked BJP in her press conference and said controversial remarks about tricolor. She said. “We will raise the national flag also once our state flag is back. The national flag is here only because of our constitution and flag. We have a relationship with the rest of the country by our special status and flag”. These remarks and counter remarks would continue in the coming days as the confrontation is going to go up with the PDP office in Jammu being attacked twice.
