Trust deficit

There is a huge cleavage between New Delhi and Kashmir as the trust which was created in the past seven decades has evaporated post abrogation of article 370 on August 5, 2019.

This trust deficit is only increasing with each passing day as the decisions taken by the central government post August 5, last year have only added to the worries and fears of common people living in Jammu and Kashmir.

While union territory of Ladakh has been promised by the central government a more powerful law then six schedule and article 370 to safeguard their land, jobs and distinct identity, but in Kashmir valley, free distribution of domicile certificates in some pockets speak otherwise.

The question arises if the central government is so serious for preserving the distinct identity of Ladakh region why they are making new laws like domicile certificates to dilute the same identity of people in Jammu and Kashmir.

If they have to give back a powerful law like article 370, to Ladakh region why it has been snatched from the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Little support from the central opposition parties to the cause of people in Jammu and Kashmir and for raising the voice in their favor, speaks volumes about the real intentions of BJP government regarding Kashmir valley.

Such measures taken by the central government has forced even a secularist and sitting MP from Srinagar Dr. Farooq Abdullah to talk about how the BJP government was trying to change the demography of Jammu and Kashmir by new domicile law.
