Gunfight breaks out in south Kashmir’s Pulwama

Gunfight breaks out between militants and the government forces in Dadura area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday, reported a local news agency, Global News Service (GNS).

According to the reports, a joint team of Police, Army’s, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Dadura.

As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off a gunfight.

An unidentified senior police officer confirmed to GNS the exchange of fire between the joint team and the militants. As per the sources, two to three militants are believed to be trapped.

Earlier, two militants were killed in a separate gunfight in Kulgam within the last 12 hours.(GNS)
