Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing growing unemployment and even in the private sector there has been massive job shedding post August 5, 2019.

Government while making JK a union territory said that it will see a huge development and also employment would be given at such a pace. Then Governor Satya Pal Malik said that one lac youth of Jammu and Kashmir would be given government jobs within three months.

He also promised huge development projects and said that Kashmir would make a real paradise. But the facts on the ground in the month of October 2020, speak otherwise.

According to the recent KCCI report, over one lac youth in Kashmir have lost their jobs in the private sector after the clampdown of the government in Kashmir valley post August 5, 2019.

People of Jammu and Kashmir are at the receiving end of the situation with no jobs and even the survival for the people working in the private sector is bleak. There is no tourism in Kashmir valley from the past 14 months and the central government is only delaying any financial package for this sector as they need immediate cash intervention for their survival.

Government will have to fulfill its promises that the article 370 was the real roadblock for the employment and for the development of jammu and Kashmir.
