Kashmir PHE Joint Employees Association has on Saturday threatened to stop the water supply to the entire Kashmir valley if the government will not listen to their long pending grievances.

In a protest demonstration near the press enclave of Srinagar, their leaders told the media that they have been pressing for their demands from the past so many years but without any response.

They claimed that many of the daily wage employees have given their land for the water supply and many of them are SRO cases. They have been assured by the government job security but they are only being given lip service by the bureaucrats.

Carrying the placards that we want justice, these daily wagers of PHE said that it was callous on the part of the government to remain silent on their demands and said that if the silence continues they will start agitation.

Talking to this reporter, president of this association Sajad Ahmad Parry said that they are prepared for a showdown with the government if their demands are not met forthwith.
