After the killing of Baber Qadri, Police Chief of Jammu and Kashmir said that they have received some leads in his killing and expressed hope that very soon they will crack this case.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police earlier said it has constituted a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the killing of advocate Babar Qadri. IGP Police said that they will soon either arrest or neutralize those persons responsible for the killing of Baber Qadri.

“He (Qadri) had said he did not want to leave his house. I have seen the tweet by him about danger to his life. Unfortunately he had not tagged the Kashmir police in that tweet, but Jammu police,” IGP Kashmir told the media.

Earlier, unidentified gunmen killed Bhupinder Singh affiliated with BJP at his ancestral village in spite of the fact that he was having security cover. Police said that he was wounded after an attack and later succumbed to injuries. Police further said that he was having two PSOs for personal security, had dropped the security personnel at his Allochi Bagh Srinagar and proceeded towards Khag village in Budgam.

All the mainstream political parties while condemning these killings have asked for proper security cover to all the political leaders and social activists, lawyers like Baber Qadri.

It is the responsibility of the government to provide security cover to the political activists and save them from getting killed on the ground while as in the recent past there have been many killings in the Kashmir valley including those of BJP activists.
