Another army personnel detained at Srinagar airport with two Kashmiri girls
Tourist police on Saturday detained two girls from North Kashmir’s Kupwara district along with an Army trooper when they were walking in suspicious state at Srinagar Airport, reported a local news agency, Kashmir News Trust (KNT).
Unidentified sources told the agency that they were detained and handed them over to police station Humhama. Sources said these girls and the army trooper, identified as Sepoy Roshan Kumar of 17 Bihar Regiment, were being questioned at police station.
Both the girls are from Teetwal Kupwara and the trooper in question is also posted at Teetwal.
Earlier, on 12 September, Lance Naik Ashok Kumar Paul son of Rajander Pal, a resident of Uttar Pradesh who deputed at Ajas Bandipora with 13 Rashtriya Rifles was arrested with two Bandipora girls.
A police official said that it was not an issue at all. He said the girls were without tickets. “Nobody was detained and questioned,” he said, quoted the agency. Sources said that during questioning the girls have revealed that they had come to Airport to see off the trooper as he is their family friend. (KNT)
