Fruit growers in Ganderbal district are faced with a lot of problems and they have been waiting for the government intervention making appeals to even LG Manoj Sinha to make sure that in the current fruit season they do not face any hurdles to transport out their fruits.

After the repeated appeals to LG administration to mitigate the hardships faced by fruit growers of District Ganderbal, Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing along with other officials visited Zazna Fruit Mandi and interacted with fruit growers association of Ganderbal.

This fruit Mandi was established a few years back but it has no basic facilities for the growers and such attitude of the authorities has disappointed the growers and they claim that this lax attitude is impacting their business.

Director Horticulture Marketing and Planning Imam-ud-Din told growers that he will ensure all the facilities for the growers in the Zazna Fruit Mandi and said that during the current season they will provide all the facilities possible for hassle free business.

Ghulam Mohammad Rather, General Secretary, Fruit Grower Association, Ganderbal told this reporter that years have passed but this fruit mandi has been ignored. He said that they have various issues pertaining to water supply, sanitation, road macadamizing, power supply, installation of sign hoardings and over all establishment of cold storage. Director assured the fruit growers association to solve the issues on priority.
