Ganderbal

In the past two days, there has been nil to little attendance in various schools of Ganderbal district.  In many schools students were happy to see their friends and teachers.

As the schools have been open for class work on Monday after six months due to the covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown, there has been mixed response to the opening of schools.

However, many Government schools as well as private institutions wore a deserted look due to zero attendance. Parents while talking to this reporter said that they were not in a position to take a risk that their wards will get infected due to covid-19 lockdown.

Authorities have issued certain guidelines for re- opening of schools which include 50 percent attendance of staff and students and the attendance of the students will be as per the written consent of the parents.

Meanwhile, the decision of authorities has brought cheers to students who attended school. These students said that the initiative will lessen the stress caused due to lock down and improve the standard of education which according to them they failed to understand through virtual classes.
