Forces recover arms, ammunition along LoC in Jammu

The government forces in Jammu’s Akhnoor sub-division Tuesday recovered arms and ammunition suspected to have been air-dropped in an area inside the Line of Control in the area, reported local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

Unidentified officials told the agency that joint teams of army and police headed by SDPO Akhnoor Ajay Sharma launched a Cordon and Search Operation in Akhnoor area, several kilometres inside LoC. “The area is located at the point where LoC and IB join each other,” said officials.

They added that during operation, a well-packed bag was recovered with 2 AK assault rifles, 3 AK magazines, 90 AK bullets, 2 Pistols and pistol magazines alongwith bullets have been recovered from the bag, which is believed to be airdropped with a drone at LoC.

“Operation in the area and further investigation into the matter is going on,” said an official. (KNO)
