Growing covid in Ladakh

Misfortunes have engulfed residents of Ladakh region. They are without any tourist season and are living under the fear of war. Now the fresh cases of Covid-19 have added to their worries especially in the far off villages.

Recently the toll due to Covid-19 reached to over 40 when some more aged persons died due to Covid in Ladakh region.

Common people have fears that if the Covid cases rise especially in the coming months how amid the war fears administration will provide them with medical help.

They are not sure about the medical supplies to the region for the winter months. They have no idea if the government can cope up with the growing pandemic during the winter months.

Local journalists of Ladakh have told many media outlets that although authorities have established Mahabodhi Covid hospital facility at Choglamsar in Leh but it lacks most of the facilities and people have worst fears for the winters.

Oxygen supply is needed not only for the Covid patients but many elderly people need oxygen support during the winter months. People have no clue whether the UT administration of Ladakh is doing anything for such supplies

Many prominent citizens of Ladakh UT including some former lawmakers are very pensive about the situation prevailing on LAC.
