“We were disappointed with the negligent attitude of the BJP towards the OBC community as they failed to fulfill their commitments,” said Jagdish Raj (Pandey). Pandey worked in BJP as National Executive Member, OBC Morch and was the member of State Working Committee of OBC Morcha.

Pandey joined JKAP in presence of Party President Altaf Bukhari, JKAP Senior Leader Mohammed Dilawar Mir, JKAP General Secretary Vijay Bakaya, General Secretary Vikram Malhotra, JKAP Provincial President Manjit Singh, Provincial Vice President Syed Asgar Ali, Provincial President of Woman Wing Namrta Sharma, Bodh Raj Bhagat, Shanker Singh Chib and others.

The Ex-State Working Committee Member of OBC Morcha, Panday was accompanied BJP, Lakhan Paul, Ex-President, Mishriwala, Vishva Kerma Sabha, Mangal Dass, OBC leader Jagdev Raj, OBC leader from Marh Madan Lal, Scheduled Caste (SC) leader Labba Ram and others.

Speaking on the occasion, Pandey said that they have worked with BJP and supported the party in all elections but they have miserably failed to come upto the expectation of the people from the community.

“The OBC community is one of the most backward in Jammu and Kashmir and they need political and government support for their upliftment which remained missing from last many years,” he said.

On the first day of his joining, the OBC leader came down heavily on the BJP for neglecting the community with hollow assurances.

“We had realized that the BJP will not be able to fulfill the demands of the OBC. It was the failure of BJP which compelled it to join JKAP. The JKAP has listened to all of our demands and has assured that all the central benefits will be extended to the community in Jammu and Kashmir, said Pandey. Pandey said that he has discussed all the demands of the community and the JKAP leadership and he has been assured of all support. “I am satisfied with the way JKAP has won the hearts of the people in J&K and assured us that they will fulfill demands of the OBC community,” he added.

He demanded that the community should be given 27% reservation in Jammu and Kashmir like the rest of the States in the Country. He demanded that the community should be given political reservation and only OBC certificates should be made, not Other Social Caste (OSC).(KNS)
