‘Won’t remain silent on abrogation issue’

Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah Thursday said “God is our savior and they are not going to be silent on Gupkar Declaration pertaining to securing of autonomy of J&K. “We are not helpless. God is our savior,” Abdullah said in response to a question that mainstream politicians in Kashmir are helpless and have been detained.

Farooq Abdullah met his party leaders including Abdul Rahim Rather, Muhammad Akbar Lone, Nasir Aslam Wani, Hasnain Masoodi and others. He had called this meeting to see whether all leaders are free or not.

“Government is lying. All leaders are not free. 16 leaders are still facing house detention. They can’t come out from their houses. I am grateful to Gold those sitting beside me are free,” Abdullah said and declined to comment what actually transpired during his meeting with free leaders of the party.

“When meeting will take place, I will tell you about the results. Let all the leaders be free. There will be a meeting and I will share details with you,” he said adding that a process will start once all the leaders are permanently free.

“I want my leaders to be as free as you (media) are, but unfortunately, press is not free here,” he said.

In response to a question, Dr Farooq Abdullah according to KNT said that they will not remain silent and are not silent what happened in Kashmir. “When they (New Delhi) allowed me to attend the Parliament, I was not free. Let me attend the Parliament and you will see what I will do,” he said. (KNT)
